Kaden's Awesome Sandwich
Kaden made this double egg sandwich all by himself. It has bread-mayo-cheese-ham-cheese-egg-lettuce-ham-egg-lettuce-bread, topped with olives on a toothpick. Yum?

Konrad's graduation
Konrad graduated from Northwestern on Friday. There was a nice lunch banquet with many police chiefs in middle TN present. The keynote address was given by a Major General in the Army. They boys thought that was awesome and after the ceremony they asked for his autograph and posed for a photo with him. My Mom and Konrad's parents were also in attendance. Congratulations Konrad!

A Mess
This was my kitchen for several days while I baked cakes for Mom and Dad's anniversary party. I was also trying to do some canning during this time, see the tomatoes? And on the kitchen table is a bucket with more veggies that needed to be dealt with. It turned out good, so I guess it was worth the mess :)

More Food Plots
The boys are busy putting in more food plots in the back pastures. They do a lot of mowing, plowing, planting, fertilizing, and praying for rain, but so far no hunting. I didn't get a picture of it, but Kaden had his inaugural mowing while preparing this food plot. He was very proud to be allowed to mow with the zero turn. It's pretty wide open space, but still a big step for a little boy.

Sleeping Cat
This is Carlos, the coolest cat ever. He is asleep, passed out upside down and twisted around, mouth hanging open. We will see him asleep outside sometimes in these awkward positions and we'll think he's dead. Nope, just catching some zzz's.

Happy 40th to my parents
This past weekend we had a party to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. Aaron (mostly Jenny) shopped for and prepared the food, Ryan made a super musical playlist (and filled in a lot for Aaron in the kitchen), Angie helped with decorations, and I made the cake, a banner, and a pool float decoration.
I am really proud of my parents for their work over the years to keep their marriage in a good place and for giving me such a good example of marriage. I also am super thankful for the life they worked so hard to provide for me. You are wonderful examples of honesty, loyalty, friendship, and love.
I love you

Chickens
Chickens destroying my sunflower bed. They have taken it over as their bathtub. They bath by covering themselves in dirt and the shaking it off, this helps get rid of bugs on them. From the amount of dirt they have shoveled out of the bed I think I can say, mission accomplished. You should be clean as a whistle by now.

Casanova
This is the bull we borrowed. He is massive, but very gentle. Konrad can pet him. I don't try. He outweighs me by about 1900 pounds, so even a friendly head toss could be detrimental to my health. His name is Casanova. We are hoping he lives up to his name.

Tomato
Amish Paste tomato. It is an heirloom tomato aquired from the Amish near Lancaster, PA. Seed Savers describes it "Delicious flesh is juicy and meaty, excellent for sauce or fresh eating." The are basically big romas. This one weighs one pound! It is very meaty inside. I made salsa with them. Konrad likes it. He's my official salsa tester.
I've also pickled some okra and jalapenos, not together :)
I've got more okra ready to pickle. I only have a few plants, so I kind of have to save up for a few days. You can't let the okra stay on the plant because it gets hard and then you can't use it.
My 2nd batch of pesto did not turn out as good as the first. I think I added too much garlic. I didn't think that was possible. I had to phone a friend for help. I asked Gina to come over and taste it to see what I neededto add. She has a much more refined palate than myself.
