Race Day!

The boys ran a 2.5K race. Kolin completed the run in 16 minutes 40 seconds, Kaden and Konrad finished in 16 minutes 49 seconds.

First Solo Campout

By divine coincidence the boys got sprayed with a skunk the same evening, so sleeping outside was a perfect solution to two very stinky boys.

Kash

Born December 25, 2001
Died April 18, 2014
It is with great sadness that we share with you that Kash has passed away. He was a wonderful creature that we were blessed to have as part of our family for over ten years. He was a hardworking police K-9 for the LaVergne Police department and always a dutiful servant to his master. He was loved and will be greatly mised.

Baby calf born tonight!

I think I missed the birth by minutes, shoot! It's solid black and I think it's a girl :)
When I first saw the calf I didn't know whose it was because it was sitting behind one cow who was sitting on the ground looking normal (not like it had just given birth) and the other cows were all standing close looking at it. After I went to the house to tell a sleeping Konrad what he was missing, I returned and all 3 cows were nosing the calf to get it to stand up. Someone was mooing softly but I honestly couldn't have told you which one was her mother. It was so cool! It reminded me of elephants. When I returned from another trip to the house to get the camera I was pretty certain it was Rosie's calf, the red one.
I decided to leave and quit shining my flashlight in their eyes.
I'll try to get a better picture in the daylight.

Happy St.Patrick's Day!

The boys starting making eggs for breakfast and I suggested a little greenery. Unfortunatley there was no ham available to go with our green eggs, but we just got word that our steer meat is ready so one morning soon we will have steak and eggs.
