We had a house full last night as we celebrated with family and friends Kaden turning 3. We ate stuffed manacotti, hashbrown casserole, garlic bread, salad and of course cake and ice cream. Thanks to everyone who was able to come and if we didn't see you, we wish you were here.
Today Kolin is wearing out the new Smart Cycle and Kaden brought his new tennis shoes to my bed this morning asking me to put them on.
Kaden's party puts and end to our planned winter activities. Now I'm ready for spring and ready to get in the garden. I bought a new cart at Sam's for toting stuff around. I've already used it cleaning out the "stall" and putting all that wonderful organic matter in the garden. I also bought my onion and garlic bulbs. I'm pretty sure the garlic was supposed to be planted in the fall so I probably won't get any this year, but I think I'll go ahead and put them in the ground anyway then they will be ready for next year.
Konrad has been working a lot of overtime the past few weeks, in his spare time he's trying to get the fencing crew to finish up the
fencing project, taxes, getting stuff ready to refinance (again) and a myriad of other little projects including a few on the Honey-Do List. He has a lot on his plate but hopes things will settle down by the time Lawn Enforcement gets busy.

It's Getting Better
This is the latest loaf. After tinkering with a basic recipe, getting very helpful advice from Ken and Tina Kaul and from my friend Amy Ward, I think I am finally producing a decent loaf of bread. Konrad and the boys are eating it like crazy. I made two loaves Monday night and then had to make another one today because the 2nd loaf was almost gone. Just tastes like bread to me, which I guess is good. I don't know if it's any cheaper than buying bread especially when you factor in time, but in my head at least I'm convinced it's healthier for us.

Here are a couple pics of our recent snow. I'm not really sure how much fell originally, I was out of town, but the snow fell Thursday and Friday and this was taken on Monday after 2 days of above freezing temps. More melted today and we can see patches of grass now. We got some freezing rain on top of the snow so it was really hard on top (not good for snowman making) and sadly we don't have a sled so we didn't get to play in it much. Thankfully the boys got to play in it over the weekend in Hendersonville where they were staying with my parents. They may be too little for sledding anyway, they really enjoy driving their trucks around in/on it. I hear we may get more before next weekend, maybe I'll go buy a sled!

The Beast Is Gone!
After listening to our old washing machine beat the floor, rattle the walls throughout the house, bang against the dryer so hard that it's door would not open because it was behind a wall, it has FINALLY been replaced. Konrad even built a stand for it so it would be a bit more ergonomically correct for my unloading pleasure. It has a lot of buttons that I have no idea how to operate. We bought it without a manual so I'll have to go online and find one. We got a good deal of course, it was a return at Home Depot and we saved almost $400 :) Yeah!
